Question to Mr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam

Dear All,

The visit of Mr. Kalam to campus is an honor for we Bhavanities and opportunity to learn from him. He happens to be a living legend. I have a question for him. Since, it would not be possible for me to visit campus, I wish someone ask him this question on my behalf.
Prior to that let me share a small incident that happened with me when I was in school. I was in class 6 or 7 [1997-1998], my principal caught me and fined me because I was keeping long hair those days influenced by music rock groups..!! And since an honest explanation would not have helped me, I gave example of Mr. Kalam as the person who influenced me....well, the next day, I came to school with my hair trimmed but the best part was my fine was withheld....Thanks to Mr. Kalam for saving my day....You look Rocking....
Well, coming to the question part. We Indian are basically very careless/ reckless group of Individuals. It's only because of few exceptionally disciplined people that things don't get worse than what it is now. The same attitude remains when we consider our public expenditure.
As a scientist and as an Individual please make us understand the viability of manned mission to moon. How the people living on the streets/ farmers committing suicides/ jobless graduates/ 72.58% of rural households of Bihar without basic sanitation features (Union Minister of Rural Development C.P. Joshi announced in September 2010) etc. are going to gain from it except that it's going to boost our EGO?
I'm not against scientific advancement but do we have (India as a Whole) the luxury to spend our public money in something so insignificant...because the news is certainly going to end up in the front cover of Times of India but it wouldn't help those farmers committing suicides who will end up in page 4.
